Did you know Ayers House on North Terrace is Adelaide’s oldest mansion and one of the best-preserved examples of early colonial architecture. Built over 170 years ago in the 1840s and later expanded by Sir Henry Ayers, this grand home has seen Adelaide transform around it while remaining remarkably well preserved. Inside, you can still find the original Victorian features and furnishings, giving a rare glimpse into 19th-century.
